Upcoming Events
Join Pocketparks for a pop-up event as it turns a vacant lot at 923 Locust Street in downtown St. Louis into a small parcel of paradise the weekend of May 14-16. The reimagined space will feature, games, and giveaways, as well as food from Bailey’s Restaurants, and more. The activation is part of an effort by Pocketparks to bring streets and neighborhoods back to life. View the transformation, participate in the fun, and provide feedback starting Friday, May 14 (from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and continuing Saturday, May 15 (noon – 9 p.m.) and Sunday, May 16 (noon – 4 p.m.). The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help support the project. All Activities will follow COVID-19 safety protocols. Attendees will be required to wear masks while not eating or drinking. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
What to Expect
In order to make sure everyone has a great time, we wanted to explain how we plan to operate the event.
Dates & Times
The DUC Park Pop-Up Event will be open on the following days from:
Friday, May 14th | 4pm - 9pm
Saturday May 15 | 12pm - 9pm
Sunday May 16th| 12pm - 4pm
If there is inclement weather, the event will be postponed or canceled that day. We will send weather updates via facebook.
Capacity
In order to maintain proper social distancing, we will be limiting park capacity to 60 people. If the park is at capacity when you arrive, Baileys Range, Bridge, and Flamingo Bowl are all within walking distance and happy to accommodate you while current guests are finishing their time slot. If and when we reach capacity, we ask that guests keep their visit to 90 minutes so that others have an opportunity to enjoy the park.
COVID-19 Regulations
All guests will be required to wear a mask when not eating or drinking. Please maintain 6ft of social distance from other groups. Pocketparks will periodically clean surfaces and hand sanitizer will be available.
Food and Drink
A Pocketparks volunteer will be taking food orders for Bailey's Range via an iPad. All food orders must be purchased with a credit card. Baileys Range will deliver your food to the Pocketparks Food and Beverage tent where you can pick it up.
Unfortunately, we are unable to serve alcoholic beverages at this event as advertised. Soda, water, and lemonade will be available for purchase.
Games
Pocketparks will have three "Game Bays" that include Frisbee Golf and Corn Hole and/or Ladder Ball. Game bays will be first come first serve. Guests will be asked to limit their time in the Game Bays for 90 minutes so that other guests can have a chance to play.
Frisbees have a suggested donation of $5 each. Pocketparks will be accepting donations via cash or Square.
Raffles
Pocketparks will be hosting raffles each day of the event for prizes from Bailey's Restaurants, Flamingo Bowl, Dead Ends Hair Co, The YMCA, and Sophia's Crowns! You can purchase tickets via cash or Square. All proceeds will be used to help develop the DUC Park. Winners do not need to be present to win.
Donations
Although this event is a temporary activation, we aim to activate space on a more permanent level. In order to do this, we need your help. Donations and proceeds from this event will be used to develop the DUC Park as a permanent park for the community. Please consider giving to Pocketparks to help us create public space that is active, beautiful, and available to all.
